Holy Thursday

I need some help here to know what this tornado like thing was. My Mom said it was a big wall of dust and trash coming down the street. It couldn't have been a dust devil because:
1. It was during a thunderstorm.
2. It caused 1 tree to get uprooted, private fences blown down.

If some one could tell me what this may have been, I will be very happy.
I could not not here anything be cause of all the screaming. My Mom said it sounded like a train which gave me a clue that it was not a tornado because a tornado sounds like a 1,000 trains. That is all the information I can give right now.

The Zipper

The State Fair is really really fun!!! All but 1 thing. The Zipper. If you have ever been on the zipper before, you know what it is. The rest of you don't. It is a very freaky ride. Please do not find out what it is. You will not like it. You are in this cage like thing and you have to hold on tight And when you start going fast,HOLD ON TIGHT AND DO NOT LET GO!!!! And close your eyes.

Went to the Fair with Grandma and Grandpa

What is a Writing WeatherGirl going to do at the fair? I will tell you more later but this was great fun!

Hurricanes in Kansas?

Actually, this is true. Well half of it is. The hurricane part is actually false. Why? Because a real hurricane has never gotten all the way up here before. What is left of the hurricane once it gets up to here in Kansas is just a lot of rain and wind. It can still cause flooding maybe but we aren't for sure. Depending how strong it is once it gets up to here.

2. Spaggeti Sauce.
3. Cheese & toppings.

Set oven to 350 degrees. Set a cookie sheet on the counter. Then cut the EnglishMuffins in-half.
Put some Spaggetti Sauce onto the English Muffins. Then put the shredded cheese on. If you want some toppings, put some on. Bake for 10 minutes.

Camp trip

Camping was fun! We went to mushroom rocks and we also went fishing. Mushroom rocks is a really neat place to go hiking, but it is not a very big hiking trail. It is only 5 acres big. There are lots of rocks to climb on. We went to a childrens fishing pond. I didn't catch anything, but that's OK.
Anna and Lucia each caught 1 fish. Anyway, it was fun. Our friends the Krondoks had fun too.
Also on saterday it rained and rained all of friday night and all of saterday morning. In Anna,Lucia, and Sophia ( Our friend.) and my tent got really close to being flooded out. We also had S'mores.
I can only eat 2 S'mores before I get sick. That is all I can think of to say.

Tornado safety tips

Tornadoes are dangerous. They can cause millions of dollers in damage. You need to be prepared for tornadoes. They can come unexpectedly. You need a tornado precaution box in your storm shelter. If you do not have a basement or storm shelter, keep your tornado precaution box in easy reach so that you can quickly grab it and evacuate if you have to go to a nieghbors house. Here is a list of things you need for your tornado precaution box:

1. Batteries for flashlight and radio.
2. 2 flashlights.
3. A radio.
4. Non- perishable food.(granola bars. trail mix.)
5. Things for people who are old and babies.

Now we will start with our SAFETY TIPS.

1. A tornado watch means that conditions are right, start getting prepared!
2. A tornado warning means that a tornado or rotation has been sighted. Move into shelter now!
3. If no shelter is open you may crouch in a ditch if it is not raining. If there is no ditch, lay down
beside a strong or sturdy building.
4. If you do not have a basement or storm shelter, go to the center of the house on the lowest floor. The room can not have any windows. Make sure everyone is in the center of the room.

Now that you know some of the tornado safety, do them when a tornado is on the way!

Storm Safety Tips

Weather can be fun. The way to have the fun stay is by safety. Here are some tips to stay safe during a thunderstorm, and to have the fun stay.

1. Go inside during a thunderstorm. A house is probably the safest place to be.( See. that isn't to bad.)

2. Don't use any electronic thing, unless it is an emergency.

3. Please do not take a bath or shower during a thunderstorm. This includes pools. ( I would not like to be fried!)

4. If you can not get to shelter on time follow these rules:
Do not ride your bike during a thunderstorm. Try hard not to get under tall trees. If you feel the hair on your back stand up, squat down on the ground with your hands on top of your head.

These rules will help you to stay safe. Good Luck.
