Sick of being sick

True. I have a fever of about 101.2 degrees. Lucia,Clara Me,Anna, and Dad. Mom might get it. Oh well. I can't think that well but one thing. Last night, I was lying in bed when the power went out.
The lightning was so loud, Anna and I, went out into the living room and curled up on the recliner.
The power went out again for a few seconds. I ran to the top of the basement stairs and yelled for Dad. He said everything was alright, but I said that lightning might hit our house. Then he said that if lightning hit the house, we would all e toast weather upstairs or downstairs. This didn't calm me down a bit. But the storm was over, and I was asleep.

Wild day

What a wild day! It all started after dad got home. He went downstairs to talk with mom. When he came back up, he wanted to talk to me. "I don't want you talking about the weather. I'm here, and I will take care of everything." He said. He went out into the garage and found our NOAA weather radio and turned it on. " It works Dad!" I said excitedly. Dad should not have had it on, for it started to go off. Dad went over to it. "A tornado warning has been issued for Kingman and SW Sedgwick county." it said. After listening to the radio a little more I realized that if it kept on going in the same direction, it would hit my friends home. Luckily, it didn't.

April

I have been taking weather observations for science, and and I found out that we have had a very warm and sunny April. Wonder what May will bring? This morning I read about the Thompson Flood. Floods are hard to predict sometimes. The reason there were so many deaths was because people in the canyon didn't listen to the warnings. They thought that flood waters rose slowly. They were wrong. The water rose quicker than they thought. The flood waters slam cars against rocks. people that were in their cars had little chance of surviving. Those that survived, climbed up the side of the canyon to be rescued in the morning. Next time there is a flood warning, do what they say, and follow their instructions. You'll be glad you did in the end.

Easter

What a busy Easter! We left the house just a little past 9:30am. Dad was dropping us off at the front of St. Anne's church so that he could find a parking spot, and so that we wouldn't have to walk a long way. All of a sudden I heard a big crash and brakes screeching. I turned around and saw two trucks had wrecked into each other. Both cars were making a turn. Luckily nobody was hurt. Just a little shaken.
